摘要

The study of mineral assemblages and crystal-lochemical characteristics of individual mineral phases is a powerful tool for understanding the processes of lacustrine sedimentation. Compositional and structural variations in clastic and authigenic minerals of the lacustrine sequences depend directly on the environmental and climatic evolution in the region. A comparative analysis of minerals of the lacustrine sediments in the dated sections provides information on the degree of weathering in the drainage area, compositional changes in the riverine suspension and eolian material, total salinity, and lake level fluctuations during past climatic cycles. Mineralogical and crystallochemical data are an important source of paleoclimatic information, and they provide reliable forecasting models of the climate change-one of the most important recent problems.
