Murunskite, a rare natural copper, iron, and potassium sulfide, is known only from three alkaline complexes in Russia. It was discovered from charoite rocks of the Murun pluton in Eastern Siberia [1] and later was found in the Khibiny hyperagpaitic rocks at Mounts Kukisvumchorr [2] and Koashva [3]. Kola Peninsula. A thallium-rich variety of murunskite was recently described from the Palitra peralkaline pegmatite at Mount Kedykverpakh, the Lovozero massif, Kola Peninsula [4].rnThe crystal structure of murunskite was not studied. Discoverers gave to this mineral the idealized formula K_2Cu_3FeS_4 and according to stoichiometry, unit-cell dimensions, X-ray powder pattern, and properties, attributed it to the bukovite structure type [5, 1] with bukovite Tl_2(Cu,Fe)_4Se_4 and thalcusite Tl_2(Cu,Fe)_4S_4 [6, 7] as natural representatives.
