Gold-Bearing Explosive Breccias of the Vanin Stock: A New Type of Mineralization in Northeastern Russia

Intrusive rocks are widespread in the Omchak ore district (Fig. 1), where they are represented by a wide spectrum of varieties from pyroxenites and gabbros to granite porphyries and intrusive rhyolites. These rocks form numerous dikes, small stock-shaped bodies, and several relatively large granite and granodiorite plutons up to 300 km~2 in size. Among them, the Vanin stock located 7 km south of the giant gold-bearing Natalka deposit and 2 km north of the Pavlik deposit (Fig. 1) is most complex and interesting. The stock consists of two distinctly distinguishable isolated different-age intrusive complexes.
