One of the commonly accepted methods applied during study of the ore potential of territories is the search by lithochemical sedimental streams. Areal survey of 1:200 000 scale is traditionally applied. On the northeastern territory of Russia, which is unique in the concentration of epithermal Au-Ag mineralization, where the formation of loose alluvial flux deposits occurs under the conditions of a cryolithogenesis zone, the authors came across the fact that some geochemical anomalies revealed by this method, which result from poor ore mineralization are little different from anomalies resulting from Au-Ag ores by the composition and contrast. A relatively poor component composition, low contrast, and violation of qualitative and sometimes quantitative relationships of elements are the peculiarities of most exogenous anomalous fields of cryolithogenesis zones. All this makes significantly difficult their interpretation and estimation. The traditional practice to account only for the composition and levels of element concentration is poorly effective in such cases. Additional criteria are required.
