First Data on the U-Pb Isotopic Dating and Original Platinum Content of the Berezovskii Polygenic Mafic-Ultramafic Massif (Sakhalin Island)

The Berezovskii mafic-ultramafic massif is located in the Eastern Sakhalin Mountains and has a size of 1.5 x 4.5 km. It enters the Mesozoic ophiolite association distinguished in this area. The massif was studied during medium- and large-scale geological mapping, as well as in the course of thematic works [5, 7, 9, 10]. During the last few years together with researchers from the Sakhalin geological prospecting expedition, we performed additional exploration and survey investigations, as well as thematic studies, the materials of which are the foundation for this publication. The massif comprises a protrusion of ultramafic restites (serpentinized harzburgite with dependent lherzolite and dunite) and intruded gabbroids (gabbro-norite, gabbro).
