The presence of osmium group minerals in ancient gold products was originally reported by D. Williams and J. Ogden [8]. However, data on their distribution and composition were absent. Our study is aimed at characterization of osmium from inclusions in gold adornments found in burial mounds of the Urals and Siberia and determination of possible metal sources.
