Indirect Uptake of Atmospheric CO_2 by the Ocean

During the last ten years, the reasons for modern global climate warming have been actively discussed. Many scientists consider the strengthening of the greenhouse effect to be the result of CO_2 introduction into the atmosphere, which is formed by burning of fuel mineral. At the end of the twentieth century and beginning of the twenty-first century, the volume of anthropogenic CO_2 outburst reached 7 billion tons C per year, which corresponds to 1% of the total CO_2 in the Earth's atmosphere. Observations demonstrate a lower rate of CO_2 concentration increase in the atmosphere, and it is considered that the ocean absorbs 30-50% of the anthropogenic outbursts of carbon dioxide [8, 9].
