Spatial and Temporal Variability in Suspended Participate Matter Concentration within the Active Layer of the White Sea

Based on satellite color scanners and with standard algorithms, the concentration of marine suspended paniculate matter (SPM) in the surface layer can be calculated. A previous attempt to apply these algorithms for the White Sea has shown that the calculated and measured values differ significantly due to the physical geographic peculiarities of the sea.
