Mendeleevite-(Ce) (Cs, □)_6(□,Cs)_6(□,K)_6 (REE,Ca,□)_(30)(Si_(70)O_(175))(H_2O,OH,F,□)_(35): A New Mineral from the Darai-Pioz Massif, Tajikistan

摘要

A new cesium-rare earth silicate, the composition of which may be expressed by the formula (Cs,□)_6(□,Cs)_6(□,K)_6(REE,Ca,□)_(30)(Si_(70)O_(175)) (H_2O,OH,F,□)_(35) was discovered in rocks of the Darai-Pioz massif. The new mineral was named men-deleevite-(Ce) in memory of the famous Russian physicist Dmitrii Ivanovich Mendeleev, the author of periodic table of chemical elements, a scientist of the very broad field of interest, who had a significant influence on the development of natural sciences and industry. This mineral was approved as a new mineral species by the Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature, and Classification of Minerals, IMA on March 6, 2010 (IMA No. 2009-092). The standard sample was placed in the Fersman Mineralogical Museum, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow (registration no. 3921/1).
