MVV Energie Invests in Czech Cogen Plant

Mannheim, Germany-based MW Energie has taken over a cogeneration power plant in Liberec, Czech Republic, a winter sports resort with more than 100,000 inhabitants in northern Bohemia. Alongside 8.2 million kWh of electricity, the plant also generates almost 194 million kWh of heating energy a year. This heating energy is distributed across the city by Teplarna Liberec, a district heating company in which Czech subsidiary MW Energie CZ already holds a 70 percent stake.
