Last year, feelings of hyped-up confidence rose from the new media booths at NAB and clustered like helium balloons against the low ceiling of the Sands basement. This year, the new media area got a new name — eTopia — and a lot of new booths. That's because a lot of last year's vendors were gone. Those that returned brought more subdued rhetoric and, in many cases, better technology.
