About 15 years ago, Gerard Dolan went to Peru to shoot a half-hour documentary about the relief work of the Archdiocese of Halifax. Even though Dolan had little experience, having only recently graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he had lived in Peru for three years in his childhood, so he was a natural for the job.
