Workplace spirituality: a new imperative in Indian manufacturing sector

The Indian manufacturing sector is growing rapidly and is expected to contribute more to the Indian GDP. In a bid to push and support this sector, the government has launched several programs such as "Make in India," "Skill India," and "Startup India" to achieve the desired goals. This sector is known for its hardcore production-oriented approach. Employees encounter stringent work conditions, tight work schedules, and shift work and have to work with heavy machinery. In addition, the repetitive nature of mechanical work reduces employees' creativity and intensifies their level of agitation (Petchsawang and Duchon,2012).
