The Medical Research Council, Toxicology Unit andCDDpress (representing the CDDifferentiation, CDDisease, CDDiscovery journals, Springer Nature) organizedthe ‘Genes versus environment in cancer’ and the ‘Cancer,Immunity & Inflammation’ conferences, which were heldin September 2018 and 2019, respectively, in Cambridgeat the stunning Clare College, founded in 1326 along theriver Cam. The conferences focused on the complexinterplay of factors that contribute to cancer susceptibility, development, and resistance, providing an excellent discussion forum on the key challenges and the latestadvancements that mostly promise to propel this fieldforward, hosting high-profile speakers.
