HHS Sued Over Failure to Provide Notice of Sponsors' Failures to Post Results

A former FDA associate commissioner and a journalist sued the Department of Health and Human Services Dec. 7 to force the department to post public notices of sponsors’ failures to release research results on ClinicalTrials.gov. Peter Lurie, president of the Center for Science in the Public Interest and former FDA Associate Commissioner for Public Health Strategy and Analysis, and Charles Seife, a professor of journalism at New York University, sued HHS, the FDA and the National Institutes of Health in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York under the Administrative Procedure Act.
