Avaliou-se a biodegrada??o de Glifosato emamostras de dois solos brasileiros, ambos com esem histórico de uso prévio do herbicida. Aplicou-seo Glifosato em 75 g de cada amostra de solo (trêsrepeti??es) na dosagem recomendada paracondi??o de campo (2,16 kg i.a./ha). A biodegrada??ofoi avaliada monitorando-se a libera??o do CO2 pelosmicrorganismos no período de 32 dias. Durante esseperíodo foram quantificados os resíduos de Glifosatoe seu principal metabólito por meio de extra??o,seguida de análise por Cromatografia a Líquido deAlta Eficiência. Os resultados mostraram que oGlifosato foi degradado pelos microrganismos dosolo, com forma??o de seu metabólito ácidoaminometilfosf?nico (AMPA). A degrada??o mostrouseligeiramente superior em Argissolo que emLatossolo. BIODEGRADATION OF GLYPHOSATE IN TWO BRAZILIAN SOILS Abstract It was evaluated the Glyphosate biodegradation in two Brazilian soil samples, both with and without report of previousherbicide application. Samples of 75 g of each soil type (3 replicates) were used and Glyphosate was applied in therecommended dose for field condition (2.16 kg a.i./ha). The assessment of biodegradation was done using the CO2evolution during a 32 days period. During this period the Glyphosate residues, and its main metabolite were quantified,after extraction and analysis by high performance liquid chromatography. The results showed that Glyphosate wasdegraded by the soil microorganisms, with formation of its metabolite, the aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA). Thedegradation was faster in the Hapludult than in Hapludox soil.
