:Objective To explore the work experience and needs of specialist nurses in multi-disciplinary(MDT)medical center of rheumatism. Methods 〓The phenomenological method was used to interview 8 specialist nurses form MDT medical center of rheumatism in a tertiary general hospital in Shanghai. The Colaizzi's 7-step analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. Results 〓The work experience of specialist nurses in MDT center was refined into six themes: the role of specialist nurses in MDT team, self-awareness, social support system, interpersonal relationship, specialist training needs and improvement of performance appraisal methods. Conclusion It is necessary to establish and perfect the professional standards and training methods of rheumatology specialist nurses as soon as possible, rationally construct and perfect the performance appraisal mechanism, and provide necessary support for the training, work and development of rheumatology specialist nurses.
