Abstract:Objective To analyze the defect in nursing shift for junior nurses, and to provide countermeasures to improve the quality of nursing shift. Methods A total of 50 junior nurses were recruited in this study. The action research method was performed with two times of circulation (plan, act, observe and reflect). The potential problems were confirmed by using questionnaire and interview. All junior nurses were trained by scenario simulated teaching and actual practice. Results The overall and each dimension score in assessment of nursing shift were increased after action training compared with those before training (P<0.01). The score of nursing shift efficacy was higher after second action training compared with that after first training (P<0.01). Conclusion The action research method can improve the quality of nursing shift among junior nurses.
