Avariety of relatively new trenchless technologies are making it possible to build and maintain underground utilities with much less excavation than in the past. While most trenchless procedures do not completely eliminate excavation, they significantly minimize damage to surface improvements, reduce interference with street and highway traffic and limit the disruption of normal public activities.
