Now firmly established as road-building technologies, cold milling and the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement have placed the providers of milling machines in a good position right now. "There's pent-up demand out there," says Eric Baker, marketing manager with Roadtec. "The stimulus package has helped a little bit, especially in the mills, because a lot of that work that has been 'shovel-ready' as they call it, and that they can get up and going quickly, is mill-and-fill-type work. So, there's been a good demand especially for the larger machines - the half-lane and above. Basically, even with the down economy, we're holding steady with what we've seen in the past."
