The new BTI SandHog Hopper Tee, using a special iron alloy, is designed for extreme wear resistance when handling highly abrasive materials, providing a service life, according to the manufacturer, twice as long as conventional abrasion-resistant tees. The new tee, available in bottom-drop or straight configurations, uses a patented design that incorporates a ledge that catches the abrasive material being discharged and uses that material to protect the downstream radius of the tee-forcing material to wear against itself and thus shielding the tee.
