The DD4045 horizontal directional drill has 40,000 pounds of thrust and pullback, and 4,500 lb.-ft. of rotary torque. It features a 160-horsepower Cummins QSB4.5 diesel engine, and an infinitely variable drilling fluid pump that delivers up to 70 gpm. The two-speed carriage allows travel up to 140 fpm. With flexibility to use single- or dual-stick controls while drilling, the DD4045 allows the operator to choose the control style that matches their preference. Operators can also choose to use the cruise control feature when back-reaming. The unit is equipped standard with 52 pieces of 10-foot, one-piece forged drill pipe.
