AEMP Board Chairman Meese Talks Diversity

Construction Equipment editorial director Rod Sutton recently talked with John Meese, CEM, AEMP board chairman and senior director of heavy equipment for Waste Management, who has set his sights on a more diverse association. "The goal is establishing contact with the diversity groups that are invested in the construction industry," Meese says. "[We want to] approach them about what we do and what they can gain from AEMP. The ultimate goal is, once that relationship is established, we can lessen our problem with the workforce [shortage]." Meese acknowledges, however, that some contractors might be out of touch with the potential workforce.
