Technology took center stage last year, becoming top of mind in product marketing, generating buzz among those responsible for building everything from bridges to commercial buildings, and setting equipment fleet managers scrambling to understand how and with whom that black box on the machine was going to communicate. Two highlights of the year were FAA piloting restrictions for unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and ISO release of a telematics standard based on the three-year-old AEM/AEMP standard. And since this is our Conexpo issue, we would be remiss to not point out how AEM has harnessed this energy and curiosity for the 2017 show.
