Raised Chassis Available on Mack's Granite

It's been a long, hot summer, but time flies and so will snow when winter is again upon us. Mack Trucks' main vocational model, the Granite, will be better able to deal with the white stuff with a raised-chassis option that allows more room for a belly plow, also called an underbody scraper. The chassis is raised 6 inches to provide additional clearance, which enables the scraper to articulate more than 45 degrees in both directions, enhancing the ability to remove snow in the winter and grade roads in the offseason. "The increased ground clearance allows for easier plow installation without the need to move other chassis components, like fuel tanks and exhaust aftertreatment systems, saving the customer both time and money" said Tim Wrinkle, Mack's construction product manager. "The new configuration also allows for a shorter wheelbase for greater maneuverability and decreased weight, offering customers a cost savings without compromising performance."
