Early-strength lightweight concrete made of volcanic rock

Lava lightweight concrete, developed by the company Burkhard Schuller Baustoffservice, is a mix of volcanic rock: e.g., of zeolite, pumice and lava. Volcanic rock can be used without additional energy input, since quarrying takes place gently and without blasting. This ancient material can be used as eco-friendly insulation in buildings, and its warm coloring and sound-insulating properties positively affect the wellbeing of occupants. Apart from its long service life, this mineral construction material can be reused following demolition of the building.
