The problem is considered of developing high productivity liquid centrifugal separator drives, and, in fact, establishment of application fields for screw involute gear and belt transmissions in liquid centrifugal separator drives. It is established on the basis of research that in separators with a rotor diameter not more than 500 mm with a sufficient degree of reliability it is possible to use a drive with an involute screw gear. For high productivity separators with a rotor diameter more than 500 mm, it is desirable to use a drive with a belt transmission. The problem of vertical shaft bearing lubrication is also resolved with the use of a belt transmission drive. A lubrication system is constructed providing oil supply to bearing supports with a low vertical shaft rotation rate.
