Reproductive Biology of The polychaete Arenicola Marina (L.) In The villaviciosa estuary (North of Spain)

The reproductive biology of the lugworm Arenicola marina (L.) has been studied in the Villaviciosa estuary (North of Spain) from november 1992 to october 1994.A.marina is a polytelic species, breeding several times per life span, usually with only one reproduc- tive peak per year. The measurement of ooxytes ean diameter in samples of coelomic fluid gives information about the maturation of oocytes. From decembver to april, all the stu- died animals were immature.
