Everyone knows that the energy systems of tomorrow will be very different from those of today. But how will the transition from fossil fuels emerge over the next few decades?rnA new report from Royal Dutch Shell describes two global scenarios: Scramble and Blueprints. Links to the report were published in a newsletter from the U.S. Department of Energy.rnUltimately, the report concludes that there are no ideal answers to resolve supply-demand tensions. It says, however, that the transition from fossil fuels is certain by 2050 and the process will likely take elements of two basic scenarios.
