摘要

We are spending ever more time in 2D, screen-based and disembodied worlds, also using them as architectural design tools. This poses a challenge to our understanding of how our 3D minds and bodies relate to the architecture and environments we are designing for ourselves today, and about the links between body, brain and architecture. Vittorio Gallese's research focuses on the relationship between the sensory-motor system and cognition, and he is currently investigating the neurobiological and bodily roots of intersubjectivity, empathy and aesthetic experience. He is one of the discoverers of mirror neurons: neurons that fire both when an animal acts and when it observes the same action performed by another.
