It appears to be a constant in the practice of design to engage with technological requirements/constraints and aesthetic intentions/understandings of beauty.This apparent dichotomy seems to be severely polarised in today's growing demand for technological performance in architectural design. We encounter this, mainly, in the world of practice. Another defining aspect of architecture is the relationship it establishes with the user. From a reductionist point of view, two qualifications are often voiced by this sector: that the architecture experienced 'works' better or worse and that it is in some varying degree 'beautiful'. Incredibly problematic and challenging concepts when taken so simply, but a common perception nonetheless and one that can hardly be avoided.
