To the Ediror, The article in the fall issue concerning VA Secretary Eric Shinseki was real interesting and very informative. The last sentence really struck home, "this is a new VA." I sure hope it works because T am a volunteer at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. You get to see the whole hospital and most of the workers, doctors, nurses and clerks that work there for us, the veteran, of which I am one. I am 72 years young. I see a lot of waste in all facets of the VA system. Sometimes when taking a patient to his or her appointment, the clerk is on a cell phone and not taking care of business, or just plain goofing off.
