Thinking back on my eventful year as National Commander, I would like to extend my wholehearted thanks to you, my AMVETS family, for all the hard work and dedication you have demonstrated in support of our mission of serving veterans as our nation's most inclusive veterans service organization. During my tenure, I was blessed to travel both nationally and internationally. I met many of you along the way, and I must say that I was impressed with the activities of AMVETS posts nationwide. Your work is directly felt in your local communities. You have not forgotten that our purpose is to assist veterans in whatever way suitable. Be it employment assistance, advocacy for homeless veterans, legislative representation or a sympathetic ear, we have worked hard to maintain our hard-earned reputation as leaders in the field.
