I've have decided that I will continue to reiterate the following statement in my updates because of how criti cally important it is. I want to stress the importance to all AMVETS members of reaching out to your members of the House and Senate as soon as possible. You have the opportunity to help shape the 112th Congress. As I mentioned in our last edi tion, the house has had a huge turnover in members and the new members are actively seeking out guidance on what legislation they should be introducing. I receive calls from new members on a regular basis ask ing what issues affecting the veteran and military communities need to be addressed. This is a rare opportunity and I urge you all to seize it and contact your representatives right now and let your voice be heard. As always, AMVETS National Legislative De partment will continue to be your voice on Capitol Hill and to this nation's leadership. However, if we all work together we stand to bring about change and betterment at a much quicker pace. Again, I cannot stress what a rare and fantastic op portunity you have in front of you in help ing to shape the 112th Congress and urge you to reach out now.
