Snapshot of 2005 Innovative Applications of AI Papers

Members of the AI community are often asked for tangible examples of where AI is at work—for ways that it impacts the lives of the ordinary and extraordinary. Each year the IAAI conference provides stellar examples to hold up. This year's winners are described below. This year's Innovative Applications award winners illustrate that recently-deployed, cutting edge AI applications continue to be found around the world across a vast expanse of industries running operations underground, on the ground, in the ocean, in the air, and into space.
