摘要

As we revealed, Mary Jane Mwangi’s hasty departure from the head of the national oil firm NOCK during the board meeting on October 9 ( AEI 849) left the top seat empty. To keep the company running smoothly and under pressure from the ministry of petroleum John Munyes, NOCK chairman Kibuga Kariithi appointed the Kikuyu George Kubai to fill the position for the short-term. Kubai had joined NOCK several months earlier after a long career with Equity Bank. He is an unexpected choice. The board had first approved the arrival of James Nyamongo, a board member of Kenya Pipeline Co (KPC). According to our sources, the powerful secretary general of the ministry of petroleum Andrew Kamau had advocated strongly in favour of Nyamongo.
