摘要

High level spinal cord injury (SCI) often involves impairment of both upper and lower limb function, with the deficit in hand function perceived by affected individuals as a high priority problem [ , ]. Activities of daily living (ADL) such as feeding, grooming, and dressing become difficult without normal hand function, and often oblige the individual to be reliant on caregiver assistance even for the most basic tasks. Furthermore, sensorimotor fine hand function essential for object manipulation is severely impaired in people with tetraplegia.
