Nanchong city , located in the central hilly region of the calcareoua purple soila in Sichuan Basin , is the major silk worm and mulberry base in Sichuan province. In order to in-depth investigate the best nutrient management for mulberry plantations in the region, 75 representative mulberry plantarions from the region were selected to evaluate the soil nutnent status in the soil profiles nt 0 - 20 cm and 20 - 40 cm depths. The result showed that the overall soil fertility was relatively low, with 1. 37 ％ and 1. 11 ％ of soil organic matter, 0. 73 and 0. 52 g · kg-1 of total N, 12. 25 and 6. 82 mg · kg -1 of available P. and 7. 26 and 0. 53 mg · kg-1 of available Zn at 0 - 20 cm and 20 -40 cm depths, respectively. Boron was the most deficient element in mulberry aoil, while the Ca, Mg and S were relatively aufficient.%南充市地处四川盆地钙质紫色土丘陵区中部,为四川省的蚕桑主产区.为了深入探讨该区桑园的养分最佳管理技术,选择了75个代表性桑园,按0～20、20～40cm土层进行土壤采样和养分分析测试,并对0～20 cm土壤养分含量进行丰缺分级.结果表明,全市桑园土壤肥力水平不高,有机质、全氮、速效磷、有效锌含量普遍偏低;0～20、20～40 cm土层土壤有机质分别平均为1.37%和1.11%;全氮含量分别平均为0.73、0.52 g·kg-1,速效磷含量平均分别为12.25、6.82 mg·kg-1,有效锌含量分别平均为7.26、0.53 mg·kg-1.有效硼含量为低,而交换性钙、镁和有效硫含量较丰富.
