Based on the illustration of the definition,classification,procedure,and principles for the engineering claims,the paper analyzes the meaning of the engineering claims on improving the internal management of construction enterprises,indicates from the improvement of enterpri-ses organization structures,formulation of claim strategies,and enhancement of construction documents management,and illustrates the impor-tance of the engineering claims.%在阐述工程索赔定义、分类、程序及原则的基础上，分析了工程索赔对施工企业完善内部管理的意义，并从改善企业组织结构、制定索赔策略、完善施工资料管理等角度作了论述，进一步说明了工程索赔的重要性。
