The key of ecological urban design is establishing an inf rastructural system which provides a set of services for sustainable development and livable environment creation. The services include natural organism production, environmental adjustment, life capacity, recreation, and beautification, and they all need high investment and maintenance from traditional grey inf rastructural system in industrial cities. Wuhan Wulijie ecological urban design sets urban flooding management as the key function of ecological infrastructural system, and integrates rainwater management, water purification, life sanctuary protection, and green transport systems with a three-level corridor system.
