Phyllostachys heterocycla cv. pubescens f. porphyrosticta G. H. Lai, X. Q. Hua et W. W. Zhou is described as a new. form of Ph. heterocycla cv. pubescens from China. It is different from type form and Ph. heterocycla cv. pubescens i. purpureoculmis P. X.
