The flotation results of a phosphate ore areimproved by replacing the conventional collectorsof fatty acids with composite collectors. Thesynergistic effect on the froth characteristics insystems using composite collectors has then beenstudied, and the concept of "mixed hemimicellae"has been proposed in the adsorption of compositecollectors at the air/solution interfaces.
