To date, genome wide association studies demonstrate that CDKN2A gene and EBV A73 gene shows strong correlation with nasopharyneal carcinoma. CDKN2A gene is the newly discovered candidate gene for nasopharyneal carcinoma among general population. It is an important anti - oncogenen which belongs to the family of cyclin- dependent kinase inhibitor, regulate cell multiplication and apoptosis. A73 gene is one of the key member of BARTs family,which express widely in EBV latent infection.
