( - ) - gossypol is a kind of yellow polyphenol product isolated from cottonseeds and roots ( genus Gos-sypium, family Malvaceae ). In recent report it has been shown that ( - ) - gossypol has significant anticancer activity. We covers the induction of tumor cell apoptosis, the inhibition of tumor cell proliferation and increased sensitivity to chemotherapeutic drugs of ( - ) - gossypol.%左旋棉酚是从锦葵科植物-棉花的根、茎和种子中提取的一种天然黄色双萘醛类化合物.目前研究表明其具有显著的抗肿瘤生物活性.本文主要从诱导肿瘤细胞凋亡、抑制肿瘤细胞增殖及增加化疗药物敏感性等方面对左旋棉酚抗肿瘤机制研究进展作一综述.
