Objective To explore the effect of oral irrigation as an auxiliary method on reducing the accumulation of plaque on smooth surface and gingivitis among the adults. Methods Thirty volunteers between 18 and 23 were randomly divided into three groups: brushing group, oral irrigation group and brushing combined with oral irrigation group. The volunteers were required to have the baseline checking with plaque index(PI) and gingivitis index(GI). After being scaled and polished, the three groups used different ways to have the Oral Hygiene. After 2 and 4 weeks, subjects were evaluated for PI and GI. Results Compared with the results of two weeks later, PI of the brushing group, oral irrigation group and brushing combined with oral irrigation group respectively reduced 22. 17%, 44. 59% and 34. 17% after 4 weeks. Meanwhile, GI of brushing group and brushing combined with oral irrigation group increased 14. 31% and 82. 19% after 4 weeks. But GI of the irrigation group reduced 13. 63%. Conclusion The oral irrigation can reduce the plaque on smooth surface in a short-term and it should be used as an auxiliary method to prevent and control periodontitis.%目的 探讨以脉冲式冲牙器作为机械性控制菌斑的辅助措施下抑制光滑面菌斑积聚和牙龈炎的效果.方法 将30名18～23周岁的青年志愿者随机均分为3组,即单纯刷牙组、单纯使用冲牙器组和刷牙加冲牙器组,在对受检者进行彻底的龈上洁治和牙面抛光的基础上,比较3组受检者使用不同的口腔清洁措施2,4周后的菌斑指数和龈炎指数的变化情况.结果 3组的龈炎指数均先上升后下降;使用4周与2周比较,3组受试对象的菌斑指数分别下降了22.17%,44.59%,34.17%,而龈炎指数则表现为单纯使用冲牙器组下降了13.63%,单纯刷牙组、刷牙加用冲牙器组则分别上升了14.31%,82.19%.结论 脉冲式冲牙器能够在短期内抑制光滑面的菌斑形成,可以作为预防和控制牙周疾病的一种辅助方法.
