AIM: To evaluate the clinical effect of light-cured Beautifil Flow composite (LCBF) in preventive restoration of early pit and fissure caries in molars. MEHODS: Three hundred and eighty permanent molars with occlusal pit and fissure caries in 190 patients aged from 8 ~ 28 years old were selected. After removal of the decayed tissue, the teeth on one side were treated with LCBF. And the same teeth or adjacent teeth on contralateral side were treated with glass ionomer cements ( GIC) as the controls. The patients were followed up for 4 years. RESULTS: The remaining rate of LCBF sealant after 1, 2, 3 and 4 years was 93.16% , 87.78% , 78.23% and 67.74% respectively, which was higher than that of GIC (P <0.01). The incidence rate of secondary caries in LCBF treated teeth was 0% , 0% , 2.94% and5.81%, which was lower than that in the controls (P<0.05). The incidence rate of middle caries in LCBF treated teeth was significantly lower than that in the controls except in the first year (P < 0.05 ). CONCLUSION : Beautifil Flow composite can be used to treat pit and fissure caries after the carious dentin is remuved.%目的:观察评价Beautifil流动聚合体用于磨牙窝沟可疑龋、初龋预防性充填的临床效果.方法:选择双侧同名恒磨牙或相邻恒磨牙均已发生窝沟浅龋的8～28岁病人190例共380个牙为研究对象,随机选择一侧窝沟龋损牙为实验组,对侧或相邻窝沟龋损牙为对照组.实验组用Beautifil流动聚合体治疗龋损部位并对未龋损的窝沟区域作预防性充填封闭术,对照组采用传统玻璃离子材料充填,观察2种材料的4年临床疗效.结果:Beautifil流动聚合体在术后1、2、3、4年的涂膜保留率高于对照组(P<0.01);继发龋发生率低于对照组(P<0.05);中龋发生率除第1年均为0外,第2、3、4年也低于对照组(P<0.05).结论:在彻底剔除龋损组织后,预防性Beautifil流动聚合体充填术可作为治疗窝沟龋替代玻璃离子治疗的方法之一,长期随诊并进行跟踪补涂,效果则更佳.
