AIM:To observe the short-term clinical outcome of implant therapy after systematic periodontal treatment in patients with severe periodontitis. METHODS:42 partially edentulous patients with severe periodontitis were treated by systematic therapy. After control of the periodontal infection a total of 80 implants were implanted. Im-plant supported dentures were made 3~6 months after implantation. Peri-implant tissue conditions were monitored for 3 months. RESULTS:After periodontal treatment PD, BOP and PLI in all patients were decreased (P<0. 05). Dur-ing the study period, all implants were in good function, 1~3 monnths after implantation PD, mSBI and mPLI were not significantly changed (P>0. 05). CONCLUSION:The short-term clinical outcomes of implant therapy in severe pe-riodontitis patients are satisfying. Comprehensive periodontal treatment and strict plaque control are the key influencing factors.%目的:观察重度牙周炎患者行系统牙周治疗后进行种植修复的短期临床疗效. 方法:选择因牙周炎失牙需种植修复的重度牙周炎患者42例,先进行牙周系统治疗,感染控制后行种植治疗,并针对骨量不足等问题进行干预;共植入种植体80个,术后3~6个月永久修复. 观察患者修复后义齿使用情况,记录修复后即刻和 1、3 个月种植体周围组织状况. 结果:所有患者经牙周系统治疗后, PD、BOP、PLI 均下降(P<0. 05);种植修复后1、3个月的PD、mSBI、mPLI分别与修复后即刻比较,差异均无统计学意义(P>0. 05);观察期内所有种植体行使功能良好,周围软组织健康,无明显炎症. 结论:重度牙周炎患者行种植治疗可获得良好的短期临床效果,术前完善的牙周系统治疗和严格的菌斑控制是治疗成功的关键.
