AIM:To evaluate the dental canal smear layer removal efficacy of EndoActivator with different agitation frequency.METHODS:60 freshly extracted single-rooted human teeth were instrumented and randomly ir-rigated by EndoActivator system with the agitation frequency of 10 000,6 000 and 2 000 r/min during the entire proce-dure or only as final irrigation,respectively(n=10).In a negative control group of 10 teeth,no EndoActivator was used.Smear layer was quantified using a thermal field emission SEM and evaluated by Hulsmann standardization. RESULTS:There was no statistically significant difference in smear layer removal between agitation in the entire process of root canal irrigation and only in the final irrigation stage.Agitation reduced the smear layer in the coronal and middle thirds of the root canal (P<0.05),but not in the apical third of the root canal(P>0.05).Agitation fre-quency showed little influence on smear layer removal(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:EndoActivator can improve smear layer removal efficacy.%目的:比较不同频率EndoActivator声波系统对根管玷污层的清除效果。方法:选择70个新鲜拔除的无龋单根管上颌前牙,按EndoActivator不同频率搅动随机分为6个实验组和1个对照组(n=10)。整个预备过程中,实验组按分组用不同频率(10000、6000、2000 r/min)的EndoActivator系统搅动冲洗液或仅在终末冲洗中使用EndoActivator搅动冲洗液,对照组不用EndoActivator搅动冲洗液。扫描电镜观察玷污层的清除效果,根据Hulsmann系统进行评分,并进行统计学分析。结果:整个根管预备过程中应用EndoActivator搅动冲洗液与仅在终末冲洗中应用EndoActivator搅动冲洗液清除根管玷污层的效果无显著差异(P>0.05)。搅动冲洗液会减少根上1/3以及根中1/3处的玷污层(P <0.05),但不会减少根尖1/3的玷污层;同时EndoActiva-tor的不同频率对玷污层的清除效果亦无明显差异(P>0.05)。结论:根管预备中,应用EndoActivator能提高玷污层的清除效果。建议使用低速(2000 r/min)EndoActivator进行根管终末冲洗。
