Northwest of Hunan is an important part of the western Hunan and Hubei blocks as well as an important oil and gas exploration area in southern China to carry out oil and gas exploration for many years,and achieved many exploration results,there are still some difficulties.This paper mainly takes the Upper Proterozoic-Lower Paleozoic of Hunan Northwestern Region-Paleozoic strata as the main research area,introduced the tectonic evolution and stratigraphic distribution characteristics of the Hunan Northwestern region,using the existing geological data fully,calculated potential and distribution of hydrocarbon source rocks to get exploration potential,at the same time,analyzing reliability resources results,the thermal evolution of source rocks in northwestern Hunan is high,the content of chloroform bitumen is very low,by using the method of calculating the amount of organic carbon resources,prospects of resource exploration in area was obtained,and the column diagram of resource distribution was drawn.%湘西北地区是湘鄂西区块的重要组成部分,也是作为我国南方重要的油气勘探区,已开展油气勘探多年,并取得了一系列勘探成果,但仍存在一些难点、问题.以湘西北地区上元古界—下古生界区域为主要研究地层,介绍了湘西北地区的构造演化及地层展布特征,充分利用已有的地质资料,计算烃源岩生烃潜力及分布后得出勘探潜力,并对资源量结果可靠性进行分析,由于湘西北烃源岩热演化程度高、氯仿沥青含量异常低,可提供参考样品量少,因此采用有机碳计算资源量方法得出该地区的资源勘探前景,并绘出了该地区资源分布量柱形图.
