The Christological image from the perspective of yuk-jeong: A complementary alliance with minjung and liberation theology.

Theologies with motives of liberation have significantly impacted societies, bringing an understanding of God to the oppressed. However, due to the increasing complexity of the power structure, a simple dichotomous agenda designed from an earlier liberation approach must be broadened to disclose the hidden power relationships. Toward this end, the contribution of Minjung and Latin-American liberation theologies are examined in the research along with aspects requiring improvement. The Korean concept of Jeong, a malleable concept of the feeling is suggested as the channel to reveal concealed power with dramatically transforming influence. This perspective of Jeong is in alliance with a postcolonial approach that is susceptible to hidden, complex and oppressive power. Christ viewed from the perspective of jeong, the manner in which Christ's liberation movement remains effective and imperative for those under explicit and implicit oppression. The Christ of jeong is a Christ resisting the oppressive power bringing hope to all those seeking social justice.
